This book is the long-awaited sequel to Yasser and Zahra Meet the Saviour of Islam.
In this book, Yasser and Zahra continue their journey, one year later. They are so impressed by the courage, resilience and strength of the Ahlulbayt (as) and try to investigate how they were so patient, as well as ways that they can try and emulate their noble examples in their daily lives.
The contents of Yasser and Zahra investigate what happened after Ashura has been checked for accuracy of Islamic History and interpretation by Hujjatul Islam Shaykh Dr. Mohammad Saeed Bahmanpour.
The lessons are planned with with a range of learning environments, age groups and styles in mind. The idea is to adapt these lessons to what best suits your community and the children you are teaching. For this reason, we have provided a variety of different options for activities for each lesson. You may also decide to choose a certain number of lessons from the ones listed below, depending on how many programmes your community runs for children over the Arbaeen period. We have also included a number of colouring pages at the end of the lesson plans.
The patience, courage, and resilience of the Ahlulbayt was above and beyond anything we can imagine. Before we can try to emulate their great qualities, we must understand the source of their strength and that is their connection to Allah and their understanding of Him. As Grandfather said, “We cannot understand Lady Zainab’s patience in the day if we do not understand her prayer at night.”
For this reason, the first two lessons focus on understanding the real presence of Allah (SWT) in our lives and our connection to Him. The third lesson focuses on Lady Zainab (as) and the speech she delivered in Shaam. The fourth lesson is about Imam Sajjad (as) and the role he played in keeping the message of Imam Husayn (as) alive. The last lesson is about the importance of commemorating the Arbaeen of Imam Husayn (as) and paying our respects to him and his family on this day.
It is our most sincere prayer that you find these lesson plans useful and that the light and guidance of the Ahlulbayt (as) enters our hearts. Ameen.
